The Winchester Trail Festival explores the countryside around England's ancient capital through four challenging distances from 14 miles to 50K. Routes weave through quintessential Hampshire scenery, linking historic pathways like the South Downs Way and St Swithun's Way. The course climbs past St Catherine's Hill before rolling across the downs to Cheesefoot Head, then follows the River Itchen through villages and past stately Avington Hall. Starting from Winchester's historic center, runners tackle undulating terrain that showcases southern England's chalk downland at its finest. The event provides well-stocked aid stations and clear route marking throughout, with a bespoke medal awaiting finishers who complete these meandering trail adventures.
