Set in the Bavarian Alps near the Austrian border, this October race offers three challenging routes through Berchtesgaden's dramatic mountain terrain. The 13-kilometre option climbs 812 metres through alpine meadows and rocky ridges, while the 29-kilometre route takes on 1,840 metres of elevation. The full 45-kilometre challenge demands nearly 3,000 metres of vertical gain across Germany's only alpine national park. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and possibly the first snow above the treeline, adding an extra edge to the mountain experience. The courses wind through high-altitude landscapes with sweeping views of the Bavarian and Austrian peaks, combining serious climbing with the distinctive atmosphere of Berchtesgaden's trail running scene.
