About this event
The Alpenstadt City und Trail takes runners from the heart of Bad Reichenhall straight to the summit of Hochstaufen at 1,771 metres. This challenging 19-kilometre route climbs 1,360 metres, tackling the technical and exposed Stoanane Jaga trail on the way up before descending via the Bartlmahd route. Designed by German trail running figure Philipp Reiter, the course demands solid mountain experience and comfort with technical terrain. Starting and finishing in the town centre, runners get a full alpine experience while staying close to valley amenities. The route combines the convenience of an urban start with serious mountain terrain that rewards skilled runners with sweeping views across the Berchtesgaden Alps.
