Alb Marathon

About this event

The Alb Marathon takes runners through the rugged landscapes of the Swabian Alb near Essingen, a region known for its distinctive limestone formations and sweeping plateau views. Two challenging distances test experienced trail runners: a 37-kilometre route with over 1,300 metres of climbing, and a demanding 59-kilometre course gaining more than 2,000 metres. The October timing often brings crisp autumn conditions, ideal for tackling the technical climbs and descents that characterise this part of southern Germany. Forest trails, rocky sections, and exposed ridgelines provide varied terrain throughout, making this a rewarding challenge for those seeking sustained elevation.
