The Doone Run

The Doone Run is a challenging 10-mile road race that winds through the dramatic landscape of Exmoor, starting from the coastal town of Lynton. The course is known for its demanding hills and spectacular views along the Devon coastline, where runners might spot wild goats roaming the moorland. A strict cutoff at the 5-mile mark (1 hour 20 minutes) keeps the pace honest. Limited to 250 participants, this event maintains a welcoming community feel thanks to Ilfracombe Running Club and local volunteers. All finishers earn a medal, and the race supports local charities. It's a proper test of hill-running fitness on one of Devon's most scenic routes.
