The Big Pilgrimage

The Big Pilgrimage traces an ancient route along The Old Way, the medieval pilgrim trail from Southampton to Canterbury. This point-to-point road event starts at Mayflower Park and weaves through coastal and countryside paths, passing historic landmarks like Netley Abbey and Titchfield Abbey. A unique boat crossing over the Hamble River to Warsash adds adventure to the journey. Runners can choose between a full marathon or 15-mile route, both finishing near Wickham. The course follows pilgrimage markers and collects stickers at historical sites along the way, blending physical challenge with cultural heritage.
