Strasimeno traces the shoreline of Lake Trasimeno in Umbria, offering runners a journey through centuries-old villages and landscapes that inspired Renaissance masters like Perugino. The full 58km route circles the entire lake, but shorter options make this accessible to a wide range of abilities — from a scenic 10km to a half marathon finishing in the medieval town of Passignano sul Trasimeno. The mostly flat terrain follows lakeside paths and quiet country roads through the Trasimeno Park, passing through stone-built hamlets where time seems to move more slowly. It's a rare chance to run through living history while enjoying gentle, postcard-worthy views across Italy's fourth-largest lake.
