The Martani Superbike takes runners through the rolling hills of Umbria, where medieval Massa Martana serves as the gateway to the Martani Mountains. The event offers two distinct challenges: a demanding 51km route that explores the higher ridges and valleys of this lesser-known range, and a 20km option that provides a solid introduction to the terrain without the full commitment. The landscape here is quintessentially Italian — a patchwork of olive groves, oak forests, and ancient stone farmhouses dotting the hillsides. Technical trails wind through woodland and open ridgeline, with enough elevation to test the legs. While the longer distance requires solid mountain experience, both routes reward runners with that peaceful, timeless quality that makes Umbrian trails so appealing.
