Nestled in the Italian Alps near Lake Garda, the Bagolino Alpin Run offers three distinct courses through the mountainous terrain of this historic Lombardy village. Runners can choose between the challenging 30km route, a 16km middle option, or a 9km introduction to alpine trail running. The courses wind through traditional mountain landscapes where stone houses cling to steep slopes and ancient pathways connect alpine pastures. Bagolino itself is known for its cheese-making traditions and medieval architecture, adding cultural texture to the sporting challenge. The July timing means warm valley starts giving way to cooler mountain air as elevation increases. While the longer distances demand solid mountain experience, the shorter route provides a taste of alpine running without requiring extensive technical skills.
