Assietta Legend

The Assietta Legend takes runners along one of the Alps' most storied ridgelines, high above Sestriere in the Italian Piedmont. The 85km Marathon Legend route follows ancient military paths and alpine crests, offering sustained high-altitude running with sweeping views across the western Alps. There's also a 58km bike option for those who prefer two wheels. This is mountain running at its most demanding — the terrain stays challenging throughout, with technical sections and significant elevation. The route's historical significance adds depth to the physical challenge, passing fortifications and memorials from centuries past. Best suited for experienced mountain runners comfortable with long, exposed alpine terrain and self-sufficient navigation through remote sections.
