Set in the Sowie Mountains of Lower Silesia, Walimskie Biegi Górskie takes runners through rolling forested ridges and a landscape shaped by wartime history. Two routes suit different ambitions: a 21-kilometre course with 722 metres of climbing, and a challenging 51-kilometre option with over 2000 metres of ascent. The longer distance winds through remote forest paths and rocky outcrops, demanding steady endurance across technical terrain. October brings crisp mountain air and the first hints of autumn colour in the beech forests. The sustained climbs and rugged sections make this better suited to experienced trail runners, though the event retains a warm, community-rooted atmosphere.
