The Ice Ultra

The Ice Ultra takes runners across 230km of Sweden's frozen Arctic wilderness, well above the Arctic Circle near Gällivare. This multi-stage winter expedition challenges participants to navigate remote snow and ice landscapes while carrying all their own gear, including food, clothing, and sleeping equipment. Water can be replenished at checkpoints along the route. The terrain varies dramatically as it crosses frozen lakes, through snow-laden forests, and over windswept tundra. Temperatures can drop to -30°C, making this one of the most demanding ultra events in the world. It's designed for experienced winter ultra runners who are prepared for the physical and mental challenges of moving through an Arctic environment for multiple days.
