Snapphaneracet

Snapphaneracet takes runners into the heart of Ryssberget's ancient beech forests in southern Sweden, where the Snapphane resistance fighters once sought refuge centuries ago. This February race offers three distances — 13, 25, and 50 kilometers — each tackling demanding loops through technical singletrack, steep climbs, and flowing descents. The terrain shifts with winter's mood: trails might be icy, muddy, or dusted with snow, adding an extra layer of challenge to already technical sections like the winding Slingerbulten. The courses weave through one of Sweden's most distinctive landscapes, where towering beeches create a cathedral-like canopy even in winter. It's proper winter trail running, where conditions demand respect and the forest rewards those who embrace them.
