Powerade WinterRun March

The Powerade WinterRun March takes runners through Elliðárdalur valley on paved paths, starting and finishing at Árbæjarlaug swimming pool. The 10km route offers a taste of Icelandic winter running without venturing into technical terrain. What sets this event apart is the post-run tradition: while pool entry isn't included, many runners head straight to the hot tubs to warm up and swap stories with fellow participants. It's become as much a social gathering as a race, with the changing facilities at the pool making the transition seamless. The setting in Reykjavik's green valley provides a pleasant backdrop, even in March when Iceland's weather keeps things interesting.
