The Plitvice Marathon takes runners through Croatia's iconic Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its cascading waterfalls and turquoise lakes. The course winds through lush forest paths and along the park's crystal-clear waters, offering a rare chance to run in one of Europe's most stunning natural settings. Four distances are available: a full marathon for experienced runners, a half marathon, plus 9km and 5km options that welcome newer runners to explore this remarkable landscape. It's a road race, but the wild beauty of the surroundings gives it an adventurous spirit. Running here means combining the focus of racing with the peaceful atmosphere of an ancient forest and lake ecosystem.
