About this event
The Prague Marathon weaves through one of Europe's most stunning historic capitals, starting and finishing in the enchanting Old Town Square. Since 1995, this World Athletics Elite Label race has drawn runners from over 50 countries, and it's easy to see why. The flat, fast course passes Gothic cathedrals, Baroque palaces, and crosses the iconic Charles Bridge, with the city's spires forming a dramatic backdrop throughout. The atmosphere blends serious racing with celebration—locals line the streets in strong numbers, and the RunCzech organization runs a smooth operation. While the marathon distance demands solid training, the historic setting and festive vibe make the effort worthwhile. The event also takes sustainability seriously, working to minimize plastic and increase recycling across the course.
