About this event
This unique timed challenge starts inside Belfast's historic Crumlin Road Gaol, where runners register in the atmospheric holding cells before embarking on loops around the famous Victorian prison. Teams or solo runners tackle distances from 6 to 24 hours, passing the prison's reputedly haunted cells with each lap. The setting adds an intriguing edge to what's essentially an endurance test — running repeated circuits while the clock ticks down. It's a serious challenge for experienced runners comfortable with the mental game of timed events, where strategy matters as much as fitness. The historic venue makes for memorable photos and conversation, even if the running itself is all about accumulating distance within your chosen time window.
