About this event
The Meerdaalwoud Trail takes runners through one of Belgium's largest forests, just outside Leuven. Set in the rolling hills of Flemish Brabant, this two-day December event winds through beech and oak woodlands on technical forest paths. Distances range from 11 kilometres to 50 kilometres across both days, with the longer routes featuring sustained climbs of up to 750 metres elevation gain. The mid-December timing brings a special winter forest atmosphere — crisp air, fallen leaves underfoot, and the possibility of frost transforming the woodland. Saturday offers five distances including a challenging 50-kilometre option, while Sunday features three routes from 11 to 28 kilometres.
