The Hornsjön Run takes runners around Öland's largest lake, weaving through the protected Horns Kungsgård nature reserve. The course explores a varied landscape of dirt roads, grassy trails, and mixed forest, with distances ranging from a 700-meter sprint for the youngest participants to an 11-kilometer route for those wanting more. Around 500 runners gather each year for this community event, which welcomes both walkers and runners. The peaceful setting and genuine local atmosphere make it feel more like a celebration of the island's natural beauty than a competitive race. Every finisher receives a medal, marking their journey around this special corner of Sweden's countryside.
