About this event
The Essar Chester Half Marathon weaves through the historic streets of Chester before opening up into the surrounding countryside. It's known as one of the UK's faster half marathon courses, making it popular with runners chasing personal bests. The route showcases Chester's Roman walls and medieval architecture before transitioning to quieter rural lanes. Part of the Chester Triple Medal Series, runners who complete all three Chester events in the same year earn a distinctive oversized medal. The course attracts a mix of experienced half marathoners looking for a well-organized race on relatively flat terrain through a genuinely interesting city.
