About this event
The Colchester Half Marathon offers runners a journey through layers of history, starting at JobServe Community Stadium and weaving through Britain's oldest recorded town. The course begins amid Colchester's ancient streets, where enthusiastic crowds gather near historic landmarks, before transitioning into the peaceful rolling lanes of the surrounding countryside. This city-to-country contrast gives the route a distinctive character that appeals to runners seeking variety in their racing. The event attracts a mix of participants, from those chasing personal bests to charity runners representing local and national causes. With professional organization including chip timing and on-course support, the March race has become a spring fixture that brings together the local community and visiting athletes for a celebration of running in Essex's historic heartland.
