Bergen City Marathon

The Bergen City Marathon takes runners through one of Norway's most beautiful cities, starting and finishing at Bryggen's UNESCO-listed waterfront. The course weaves through Old Bergen's wooden houses, climbs along Fjellveien's hillside paths, and follows the peaceful shores of Store Lungegårdsvann lake. With four distances available—from a 2K for kids up to the full marathon—there's a race for different abilities, though the main event offers a proper challenge with its hilly terrain and technical sections. The route balances Bergen's historic charm with demanding elevation, while enthusiastic crowds at Nygårdsparken and along the Nordnes waterfront keep spirits high. It's Norway's largest marathon weekend, attracting around 15,000 runners who come for the mix of urban landmarks and fjord views.
