Absolute Biokovo Challenge

The Absolute Biokovo Challenge takes runners into the rugged limestone wilderness of Croatia's Biokovo massif, where dramatic coastal views meet challenging mountain terrain. Based in the small village of Makar, this event offers four demanding courses that climb through Mediterranean scrubland into alpine landscapes. The Extreme Challenge tackles over 4,400 meters of elevation gain across 45 kilometers, while the Vertical Challenge packs 1,150 meters into just 5 kilometers of climbing. Each route showcases Biokovo's stark beauty — exposed ridges, rocky trails, and sweeping vistas over the Adriatic. This is genuine mountain running where technical terrain and significant elevation demand solid experience and preparation.
