Set in Northamptonshire's former ironstone quarries, Dirt Run Irchester Country Park offers a proper taste of mixed-terrain running through woodland trails and rolling hills. The event welcomes runners with three distances — 5K, 10K, and 15K — each winding through varied forest paths where mud is often part of the experience. The old quarry landscape creates natural undulations that keep things interesting without being overwhelming. With its combination of tree cover and open sections, the course gives runners a good introduction to off-road running while staying close to the heart of England.
